Linear Radiance explores the meeting of light, land and horizon through a restrained composition of warm earth tones and luminous neutrals.

A rich horizontal band of ochre, bronze and umber stretches across the centre of the work, creating a strong division between the softly textured fields above and below. Fine vertical markings interrupt this band, suggesting grasses, sediment, exposed earth or the traces left by water moving through the landscape.

Above, a subdued ridge emerges beneath a pale, atmospheric sky, while the lower section opens into a quieter expanse of ivory, stone and softened grey. Subtle variations in texture allow light to move across the surface, revealing marks and irregularities that shift as the painting is viewed from different angles.

The work balances structure with softness. Its pronounced horizontal line anchors the composition, while the weathered surfaces and muted palette evoke distance, stillness and the gradual effects of time upon the land.
