Commissioned Work — Created in close collaboration with the client, this piece was tailored to suit their vision and complement a special room in their home.

Kiama Coastal Walk is a vibrant, textured impasto, with thick, sculptural strokes of paint applied with a palette knife to create a rugged and energetic seascape. The entire surface is a tactile landscape, with ridges and peaks of colour that catch the light, making the scene feel alive and three-dimensional.

A small inlet cuts into the foreground, with the water rendered in thick, blended strokes of mauve. The water is in motion, with bright white and blue paint applied in thick dabs to create foamy, cresting waves that break against the base of the cliff. The palette knife has been used to drag lighter colours across darker ones, simulating the reflective, shifting surface of the sea.

Kiama Coastal Walk is an impressionistic, almost abstract representation, emphasising energy, texture, and the raw beauty of the shoreline.
