This painting is arranged in three distinct horizontal zones, suggesting sky, landform, and foreground terrain. The heavy impasto, scraped layers, incised lines, and corrugated impressions give the work a strong sense of physical depth.
The upper section features cool silvers, greys, and muted blues, creating the impression of a shifting, clouded sky. A dense band of crimson, rust, bronze, and dark brown anchors the composition, recalling rocky cliffs, earth, or a distant ridge.
And finally pale olive, ochre, cream, lime, and dark grey tones combine with vertical comb-like marks that suggest grasses, reeds, or reflections near water.
