Circle in the Infinite explores the relationship between form, movement and continuity through a restrained palette of turquoise, teal and softened white.

At the centre of the work, an imperfect circular form emerges from the heavily textured surface. Its boundary is neither precise nor complete; instead, it appears to have been shaped by the surrounding marks, as though formed through erosion, water or the gradual movement of the landscape itself.

Layers of scraped, dragged and incised paint move horizontally and vertically across the composition, creating a surface that shifts between solidity and fluidity. Deeper teal passages suggest water and depth, while lighter areas appear almost mineral or weathered, giving the work a tactile, elemental quality.

The circle provides a moment of stillness within this movement. It draws the eye inward while the surrounding marks continue beyond it, creating a tension between the contained and the limitless, the finite form and the infinite space around it.

Rather than defining what the circle represents, the work leaves it deliberately unresolved—perhaps a pool, a void, a geological trace or a symbol of continuity. In this way, Circle in the Infinite invites contemplation of cycles, time and the enduring relationship between water and land.
